iQue was Nintendo's first attempt to enter the mainland Chinese market, which has strict guidelines for foreign companies entering its market, as well as strict laws for video game publishing. This venture would start with the iQue player, a modified N64, and go all the way until the 3DS XL. The iQue systems saw decent success in China, but sold much less in comparison to more global markets, for example, the GBA line only sold up to 200,000 units, whereas in North America alone it sold 40 million. There were also only a few games published under the iQue name.
